Job summary

DCM Inc. is seeking a Cultivation Technician to support daily activities in a cannabis cultivation operation. Responsibilities include cultivating, harvesting, bucking, labeling, weighing, and packaging finished flower for market.

The role requires maintaining cleanliness, following SOPs, and logging data while working in a fast-paced setup. On-site, five days a week, with a facility environment involving varying temperatures and humidity.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Pass a Federal and State criminal history background check.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in cultivation tasks: cloning, transplanting, trellising, defoliation, waste disposal, sanitizing rooms.
  • Assist in harvest tasks: chopping, weighing, hanging, inventory, sanitizing equipment.
  • Handle bucking: removing plants from dry room, collecting flowers, trimming, weighing, storage.

The shift is Monday - Friday, 8AM - 430PM

Cultivation Technician

Our Cultivation Technician is primarily responsible for tasks ranging from the production, cultivation, growing, and harvesting of cannabis. Additional duties include activities such as bucking, sorting, labeling and weighing raw finished flower, as well as trimming and packaging in preparation for market. Cleaning and maintaining all equipment and tools used throughout each process will also be part of the job duties.

Your role in caring for our company:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Participate in all cultivation related tasks including cloning, transplanting, trellising, defoliation, waste disposal, sachet hanging, as well as sanitizing rooms for reset.
  • Participate in all harvest tasks including but not limited to chopping, weighing, hanging, waste disposal, inventory management and sanitizing equipment.
  • Participate in all bucking tasks including but not limited to removing plants from dry room, bucking of raw plant material, collecting flowers, trim, and waste separately, weighing, and storage of dry flower.
  • Participate in the cleaning of gutters, tables, and irrigation lines to be able to reset the tables for the following cultivation drops.
  • Participate in all tasks associated with trimming and sorting of raw cannabis to bring to market to include physically weighing, bagging, as well as sanitizing workstations.
  • Pre-opening of pre-packed finished flower bags.
  • Review completed units to verify correct weight and detect any visual defects.
  • Application of all necessary labels.
  • Counting completed units into predetermined case pack sizes.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Responsible for following all standard operating procedures (SOP) operational guidelines, verbal directives, training information, and policies when performing duties.
  • Maintain accurate data and equipment logs and a clean and organized work environment.
  • Maintain open communication with the management team and other co-workers about daily production output as well as challenges faced throughout the workday.
  • Must be comfortable working in environments with varying temperatures from 55°- 85° as well as humid environments ranging from 45% to 80%.

All other duties as necessary.

Qualifications we ask you to have:

  • For legal reasons, all employees need to be at least 21 years of age.
  • You will be asked to pass a Federal and State criminal history background check.
  • We ask that you have at least a high school diploma/GED.

Additional skills which will help you excel in your role:

  • Strong attention to detail, our plants are very delicate throughout their lifecycle!
  • Desire and ability to work as a member of a team in multiple settings and environments.
  • Flexibility to accommodate scheduling demands including some weekends and applicable holidays.
  • Please have personal accountability, proactive behaviors, and strong attention to detail as well as excellent observational skills.
  • We ask that you do not have allergies to plant materials or nitrile gloves; this position requires daily exposure to cannabis plants and nitrile gloves.
  • Comply with all HR policies including confidentiality and non-disclosure.
  • Maintain open communication with the management team and other co-workers.
  • Strong work ethic; must be accountable and proactive.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace in a high production environment!
  • Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.

Work Schedule/Location:

  • On-site 5 days a week.

  • This position requires an inordinate amount of standing, walking, kneeling, bending, scooping, twisting, and reaching in full range of motion to complete physical tasks.
  • This position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted and up to 80lbs assisted.
  • This position is similar to an assembly line, in that it will be completing repetitive tasks throughout the workday.
  • This position requires the ability to work in a cannabis growing facility, there will be strong odors, bright lights, and various noises throughout the workday.
  • This position will require PPE to be worn throughout the workday to include scrubs, masks, gloves, hairnets, and hearing protection while working with the plants. DCM will provide scrubs, masks, gloves, hairnets, and hearing protection to all employees.
