Job summary

Thales Portugal, based in Lisbon, seeks an HR Business Partner to support managers and employees across the full lifecycle, guiding performance, development and engagement.

You will lead hiring and workforce planning, implement development initiatives, manage performance reviews and advise on employee relations.

A degree in HR, psychology, business administration or related field is required; fluent English is mandatory; experience with HR systems such as Workday is a plus.

Location: PSS – Lisbon (Central), Portugal

Main Purpose

You will support managers and employees throughout the entire employee lifecycle, providing guidance on topics like performance, development, engagement, and employee relations.

Key Responsibilities as a HR Business Partner:

• Support hiring and workforce planning to ensure the right talent is in place.
• Identify and implement training and development initiatives for teams.
• Manage performance, talent reviews and career development processes.
• Advise managers and employees on HR topics, including employee relations.
• Oversee compensation, payroll support and internal mobility processes.
• Ensure consistent application of HR policies and processes across the employee lifecycle.

Requirements

• Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration or related field.
• Strong communication skills in English (mandatory).
• Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of core HR processes (performance, compensation, employee relations, talent development).
• Solid understanding of labour law (preferably Portugal/Spain).
• Experience with HR systems (e.g. Workday or similar).
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills with a proactive, hands‑on approach.
