C&S Wholesale Grocers, LLC is seeking an HR business partner to design and implement human resources programs that align with business goals in Stockton, CA. You will partner with leaders to advance talent development, performance management, and workforce planning while ensuring confidential handling of employee relations matters.

The role emphasizes collaboration across functions, DEI initiatives, and a proactive approach to complex investigations and union-related processes.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in Human Resources or a related field.
• Willingness to travel occasionally, approximately 10% of the time.
• Background managing collective bargaining agreements and the union grievance process.
• Experience conducting complex, sensitive investigations from intake through final resolution.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.

• Support key HR initiatives, including talent management, training, succession planning, workforce planning, performance management, and salary reviews.
• Drive the talent review process and create individual development plans with leaders.
• Partner with Operations on HR and company initiatives to enhance engagement, performance, and retention.
• Manage and resolve employee relations issues.
• Partner with COE to drive DEI initiatives at the local level.
• Work with site leadership to ensure alignment with local culture.

Full Time, On-Site Role

Location: 4199 Gibraltar Ct, Stockton, CA 95206

You will contribute by:

• Identifying, developing, and implementing HR programs that support the business objectives and key performance indicators of the business unit
• Partnering with leaders and serving as a trusted advisor on people, organization, and capability implications of the business strategy
• Coaching and advising leaders on talent development and performance management

• Driving the talent review process and partnering with leaders to create individual development plans
• Partnering with Operations on HR and company initiatives that enhance engagement, performance, and retention
• Managing and resolving employee relations issues
• Partnering with COE to drive focus and awareness of organizational Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives at the local level
• Partnering with site senior leadership to ensure a strong strategic vision aligned with local culture

We're searching for candidates with:

• Working knowledge of Human Resources‑related laws and regulations
• Demonstrated ability to establish credibility and influence leaders
• Strong internal and external customer service focus
• Drive to deliver outstanding results across the organization
• Effective communication (verbal and written), negotiation, and presentation skills
• Capability to work collaboratively across divisions, functions, and levels
• Project management, analytical, and organizational abilities
• Proficiency in using data to inform insights
• Ability to identify and handle priority and/or sensitive issues with discretion, with a strong commitment to confidentiality
