Job summary

Marvin is opening a new distribution center in Reno, NV and is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to focus on employee relations, engagement, benefits, training and safety. You will work with local leadership and our Total Rewards, Communications and Culture, and Leadership Development teams to build a positive culture at the new site.

We are looking for a hands-on, empathetic leader who can help grow the operation and advance careers in HR while partnering across functions to deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years in an HR Business Partner role preferred.
• Professional certification preferred (SHRM, PHR, SPHR, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Mentor and counsel to the HR team, developing members and cohesion across the team.
• Address employee complaints confidentially with urgent resolution of ER issues.
• Support programs to improve workplace culture, impacting recruitment and retention.
• Ensure recruitment and retention efforts meet business needs.
• Coordinate HR processes including unemployment claims, accommodations, work restrictions and return to works

In this role, you\’ll focus on employee relations, engagement, benefits, training, and safety as you and other leaders create a positive culture at our new location. You\’ll work closely with local leadership plus our Total Rewards, Communications and Culture, and Leadership Development teams.

Your Schedule: Monday-Friday 7am-4pm at our Reno, NV location.

Highlights of your role

• Provide mentorship and counsel to the HR team, developing team members and maintaining cohesion and consistency across the team.
• Proactively address employee complaints/concerns in a confidential and appropriately urgent manner, providing resolution of employee relations issues
• Manage and support programs and events designed to improve workplace culture, positively impacting recruitment and retention.
• Ensure efforts around employee recruitment and retention are performed to expectations and meet business needs
• Coordinate HR manners including unemployment claims, accommodations, work restrictions, and return to works

You\'re a good fit if you have (or if you can)

• Bachelor\'s Degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of in a Human Resources Business Partner role preferred
• Professional certification preferred (SHRM, PHR, SPHR, etc.)

• Ability to manage information with integrity and confidentiality
• Ability to work successfully as both an independent contributor and team member
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong digital literacy
