Association for Energy Affordability, Inc. is seeking an Associate, Human Resources in Emeryville, CA to join a mission-driven nonprofit focused on energy efficiency and affordable housing.

The role covers recruitment, employee relations, onboarding, and HR administration in a fast-paced environment. You will collaborate with the Director of Human Resources, manage candidate experiences, maintain records, support benefits and payroll processes, and help implement performance management and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 2–3 years of HR experience in recruitment.
• Proven ability to attract, recruit and retain talent; enjoys interviewing.
• Knowledge of recruitment, performance management, career path planning, HR data & analytics.
• Strong attention to detail and highly organized.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in ATS (Indeed, LinkedIn Recruiter), Paycom payroll, Slack, and Smartsheet.

Responsibilities

• Lead recruitment and talent acquisition activities and build a diverse candidate pipeline.
• Support HR administrative functions and maintain employee records.
• Serve as liaison between employees and management on questions and issues.
• Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes; ensure a positive candidate experience.
• Support payroll changes and benefits orientation; assist with leaves and visa sponsorships.
• Support performance management processes and career pathing initiatives.
• Assist with HR projects and company-wide events and communications.
