Job summary

Westervelt Lumber seeks a Human Resources Assistant to provide centralized HR administrative support for the Moundville and Thomasville operations. This role includes payroll records, onboarding, and HRIS data management, working closely with HR Representatives and site leadership.

The position requires HR and payroll experience, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with Excel. Travel between mills is expected to support a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in HR and payroll operations.
• Experience working with vendors and employees.
• Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Provide centralized HR administrative support for multiple locations (Moundville and Thomasville).
• Support payroll processing and maintain payroll records.
• Assist recruiting, onboarding, and applicant tracking activities.
• Maintain employee files and HRIS data integrity; prepare workforce reports.
• Coordinate employee recognition, training, and HR communications.
• Support ADP administration and employee self-service activities.
• Travel between mills as needed; assist with investigations and compliance tasks.
