Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Corrections, Field Human Resource Office Region 11, seeks a Human Resource Assistant 2 to provide paraprofessional HR support for SCI Dallas and SCI Waymart. The role emphasizes time management, staff coordination, and adherence to HR policies.

You will learn processes that keep operations running smoothly, including handling employee actions in SAP, coordinating with managers, and supporting the Employee Performance Review program.

Qualifications

• One year as HR Assistant 1 or equivalent government/ Commonwealth experience.
• One year clerical or paraprofessional HR experience, or an equivalent mix of experience and training.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Audit and monitor time and attendance records and guide timekeepers.
• Assign work, review performance and supervise clerical staff in the region.
• Interpret HR policies and labor contracts for absence, overtime and scheduling.
• Process personnel actions in SAP including separations and role changes.
• Submit and track FMLA requests and monitor related absences.
• Run monthly EPR reports and support the EPR program.
