MU Health Care's HR Information Systems team is offering a part-time HR Application Developer Intern position at Falling Leaf in Columbia, MO. You will help design, develop, and maintain web applications and interactive learning tools while applying study principles in a real academic medical center setting.

You will learn web development basics, assist with ETL-related tasks, participate in Agile team activities, and gain exposure to instructional technology and CMS tools such as Rise 360,

Qualifications

• The candidate is pursuing or recently completed a degree in computer science, web development, educational technology, or a related field.
• Web development coursework or projects are preferred.
• Interest in instructional technologies and learning tools such as CMS or authoring tools is a plus.
• Ability to work in an Agile team environment.

Responsibilities

• Gain practical work experience in learning technologies or areas related to the program area of study.
• Code, document, and implement project specifications with assistance from the developer on the team.
• Learn about databases and assist with basic data retrieval and updates as part of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
• Conduct basic testing of web applications and learning technologies to ensure they are user-friendly and functional.
• Attend team meetings and learn to track project progress, gaining exposure to Agile methodologies and project management practices.
• Stay curious and explore emerging technologies, web development trends, and instructional tools that can enhance the learning experience.
• May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents.

ABOUT THE JOB

The HR Application Developer Intern position allows students to apply study principles in the practical work setting of an academic medical center in preparation and pursuit of their career interests. Interns will contribute to projects in assigned departments or areas that support MU Health Care's strategic mission.

The HR Application Developer Intern will support the design, development, and maintenance of web applications and interactive learning tools within a healthcare organization. They will learn the basics of web development and instructional technology while assisting team members with various tasks.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Desire to learn more about instructional technologies, content management systems (e.g., Drupal), and authoring tools (e.g., Rise 360, Captivate, Storyline).
• Interest in working in a team-based Agile environment.
• Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
