Job summary

UTMB Health in Galveston, TX seeks a Lead HR Analytics & BI Developer to design and deliver enterprise HR data solutions. You will build Power BI reports and semantic models, and manage Azure-based data pipelines and the HR data warehouse.

The role requires strong Azure data engineering skills and experience with HR processes, governance, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver secure, decision-ready workforce information in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field; 4 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Functions, and cloud data platforms.
• Experience developing Power Apps, Power Automate, or Power Platform solutions.
• Knowledge of Python, ML concepts, generative AI, and responsible AI practices.
• Experience supporting HR analytics, HR information systems, workforce reporting, payroll, or related HR processes.
• Experience in healthcare, academic medical center, higher education, or regulated environments.
• Experience with source control, deployment pipelines, data governance, and change-control practices.

Responsibilities

• Leads the technical design and delivery of complex HR analytics and data solutions.
• Speaks as lead technical resource for HR analytics, Power BI, and Azure data integration.
• Designs, develops, tests, deploys, and maintains Power BI reports and semantic models.
• Develops and maintains governed Power BI semantic models and data warehouse structures.
• Writes and optimizes Azure SQL queries, views, and transformation logic.
• Develops Azure Data Factory pipelines and Logic Apps for data ingestion and orchestration.
• Administers HR-specific Azure resource groups and services with governance in mind.
• Manages the Azure HR data warehouse environment and data loads troubleshooting.
• Responds to complex data requests from leadership and auditors with timely submissions.
• Performs data analysis to identify workforce trends and risks.
• Partners with stakeholders to translate business questions into governed analytics.
• Develops user-friendly analytical tools using Power Apps when appropriate.
