Job summary

The HR Advisor at the Law School plays a vital role in supporting the university's mission by aligning human resources strategies with institutional goals. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to mentor and lead others to ensure effective operations at the law school.
  • Ability to handle data with confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations related to human resources.
  • Ability to analyze requests to determine compliance with policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Must possess the ability to write clearly, accurately, and effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively evaluate and prioritize work assignments to meet timeliness and quality expectations.
  • Ability to learn, adapt to and operate efficiently in multiple systems utilized concurrently, including human capital management system, talent management and other relevant integrations, and Microsoft Office.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Must possess excellent judgement, high expectations for quality, excellent customer service etiquette, and a strong work ethic.
  • Must be a self-starter and possess the ability to solve problems independently.
  • Must have the ability to handle the stress and pressure of working in the Dean's suite, where work must be performed with quick turn-around times and precision.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge and understanding of USC HR policies, State of SC HR Regulations and applicable federal HR laws/regulations specific to higher education.
  • Prior experience in cross-functional HR program management.
