Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a skilled instrument technician in Indianapolis to maintain and support open access LCMS and UPLC systems. You will perform routine maintenance, calibration, and repairs on HPLC/UPLC and related lab equipment, document activities, and coordinate with contractors and customers to minimize downtime; you will troubleshoot faults and diagnose issues to keep instruments running.

This role requires strong attention to detail, client-facing communication, hands-on experience

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of HPLC experience.
  • Experience analyzing information and standard practices.
  • Experience leading troubleshooting and interacting with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily support to ensure open access LCMS and UPLC instruments are ready.
  • Perform routine maintenance, repair, and calibration on HPLC/UPLC, LCMS, gas chromatographs, incubators, centrifuges, balances, and microscopes.
  • Operate test equipment including multimeters, temperature standards, optical standards and liquid flow meters.
  • Coordinate the removal of equipment requiring extensive repairs during scheduled maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot, service or resolve problems while performing unscheduled work.
  • Record and report abnormal functions or out-of-tolerance conditions; initiate corrective action as needed.
  • Review and document daily records of inspections, maintenance activity, repairs, and other work performed.
  • Coordinate with external contractors on repairs covered by maintenance agreements; communicate with customer staff and outside contractors about calibration, repair, and operation of equipment.
  • Locate part sources, estimate costs, and prepare requisitions.

Job description

  • 3+ years of HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography) experience
  • Experience analyzing information & standard practices
  • Experience leading troubleshooting processes, being client facing, having large equipment lists, etc.

Day to Day:

  • Provide daily support services to ensure open access LCMS and UPLC instrument are ready for operation
  • Perform routine maintenance, repair, and calibration on a variety of laboratory equipment, that may include HPLC/UPLC systems, LCMS systems, gas chromatographs, incubators, centrifuge, balances, and microscope.
  • Operate test equipment. This includes multimeters, temperature standards, optical standards and liquid flow meters.
  • Coordinate the removal of equipment requiring extensive repairs during scheduled maintenance periods
  • Troubleshoot, service or resolve problems while performing unscheduled work.
