Job summary

ConMet in Clackamas, OR is seeking an operator to own the die casting process for automotive and trucking parts. You will hoist dies, set tooling, monitor cycle parameters, and ensure quality.

Starting wage $24.04/hr for 90 days, then $24.61/hr. 40-hour weeks with weekday night shifts. Premiums apply.

Qualifications

• Experience with CNC machine setup and changeover.
• Experience with automotive manufacturing systems.
• Experience setting up production runs on manufacturing lines.

Responsibilities

• Hoist and position specified die sections with a crane; bolt and secure them; set the ram stroke.
• Complete safety inspections and correct hazards before cycling the machine.
• Connect the die’s water cooling; preheat die sections with an electric heater.
• Regulate water flow and machine speed for part geometry, metal type, and melt temperature.
• Adjust air and spray systems to clear fragments and apply lubricant to the die cavity and plunger.
• Set and tune automatic ladling to feed molten metal into the machine chamber.
• Keep the holding furnace at proper metal level and temperature through the shift.
• Monitor, measure, and act on process parameters to maintain consistency and compliance.

Your schedule and pay

Pick From Steady Weekday Nights

• Swing: Mon-Fri, 3:00 PM-11:30 PM (premium +$1.25/hour)
• Grave: Mon-Fri, 11:00 PM-7:30 AM (premium +$2.00/hour)
• Starting wage: $24.04/hour for the first 90 days; then $24.61/hour
• Hours: 40-hour work week
