Job summary

Knonix in Utah is seeking a System Administrator I (HPC) to support multi-vendor HPC servers and clusters. You will configure Linux/Unix systems, troubleshoot IT infrastructure, and help maintain high-performance computing environments with emphasis on reliability and security.

The role requires TS/SCI with polygraph clearance, US citizenship, and hands-on experience with HPC networking (InfiniBand/Slingshot), Slurm, and associated tools.

Qualifications

• Experience with OS install, file system configuration, TCP/IP networking, and OS/application troubleshooting.
• BASH scripting and software compilation/install experience.
• Understanding of HPC architecture and high-speed networks (InfiniBand, Slingshot).
• Familiar with Jira, Confluence, Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios, Slurm, git, Salt, Ansible.

Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain, and advance Linux/Unix operating systems and related software.
• Provide Tier 1/2 support and handle IT system troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Manage daily configuration/operation of IT systems and assist users.
• Support IT infrastructure including client/server/storage/network devices and mobile devices.
• Coordinate status updates to agency management and internal customers.
• Optimize system operations and perform capacity planning.
