Job summary

The University of Central Florida's Institute for Simulation and Training is seeking a Software Developer I to operate high performance computing clusters, manage user accounts, install software, and support researchers across campus. The role involves working with Linux systems and Slurm for scheduling jobs, and co-supervising student assistants.

Responsibilities include configuring user access, compiling software, maintaining scheduling software, providing user orientations, and helping design

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree; or HS diploma with 4 years relevant experience.
• Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Proficiency in C, C++, and Python; Anaconda experience.
• Experience with job scheduling software like Slurm.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support creation of user accounts on HPC clusters.
• Install software and compile on Linux clusters.
• Maintain Slurm scheduling and cluster software.
• Provide user orientations and technical support.
• Co-supervise student assistants and help design storage/networking within clusters.
