Vast Space Llc. is hiring a Staff HPC Infrastructure Engineer in Long Beach to build and maintain advanced HPC infrastructure for space-station design and analysis.

You will partner with engineering teams to deliver scalable compute, storage, and GPU resources, ensuring reliability and performance for critical mission milestones. The role requires 8+ years in HPC, strong SLURM and Linux expertise, and experience with aerospace analyses.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of HPC administration and architecture experience.
• Experience supporting HPC clusters for Aerospace or related industry.
• Deep understanding of SLURM and Linux.
• Experience shaping architecture with engineering teams to accelerate analysis.
• Led technical initiatives from concept to deployment.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, math, engineering, or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Build, support, and architect Vast’s HPC infrastructure.
• Design and implement enhancements to improve performance and cost.
• Provide support to engineering teams using HPC for analysis.
• Own lifecycle—updates, patching, maintenance, reliability.
• Integrate HPC with NX/Teamcenter and post-processing.
• Onboard new applications and users to HPC environment.
