Job summary

A technology solutions firm is seeking an HPC Data Storage Engineer in Arlington, VA, to manage and optimize data storage systems for critical DoD programs. Job Overview

Sabre is seeking an HPC Data Storage Engineer to support a mission‑critical Department of Defense (DoD) program dedicated to high‑performance computing operations. In this role you will manage and optimize data storage systems that underpin large‑scale HPC clusters and networking infrastructure, directly enabling advanced data‑intensive research efforts essential to national defense.

Location

Arlington, VA – the selected candidate will be required to work onsite.

Responsibilities

• Manage where data is stored.
• Capacity planning and management, performance management, metrics reporting, storage quotas, policy enforcement, hardware management and tuning.
• Interface with HPC users to identify potential performance‑improvement strategies.
• Remotely assist a counterpart located at an alternate site as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and three or more years of job‑related experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of monitoring and administering parallel filesystems such as Lustre, BeeGFS, GPFS, etc.
• Experience deploying and administering data storage systems (SAN, NAS, tape archives).
• Demonstrated knowledge of building, configuring, and administering production Linux computer/storage systems.
• Practical experience scripting in Bash, Perl, Python, or similar languages.
• Experience deploying and managing SAN infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of networking concepts and practices.
• Knowledge of or experience with hardware and software security practices.
• Certifications: DoD 8570 IAT II/III and Red Hat Computing Environment (RHCSA).

Clearance Requirements: This position requires an active Top Secret DoD security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Compensation

At Sabre Systems, LLC, compensation is based on location, qualifications, experience and contract‑specific requirements; final compensation will be determined by individual qualifications and applicable contract terms. The general salary range is $90,000.00 – $200,000.00.
