Job summary

Vibrint is seeking a System Administrator focused on Storage to support HPC clusters and multi-vendor environments in a high-security setting in Maryland. The role requires an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph and US citizenship.

You will configure and tune storage for virtualization, cloud, and file services, and work with a broad toolset including GPFS, Lustre, and Slurm. You will collaborate with engineers to ensure reliable storage performance, manage NFS/CIFS appliances, and contribute

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • At least five years of system administration experience; DoD 8570 IAT II is preferred.
  • Strong Linux/Unix administration, scripting, and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

  • Configuration, tuning, testing, and advanced storage troubleshooting for HPC and virtualization.
  • Support multi-vendor HPC servers, clusters, and storage environments.
  • Work with RedHat/Suse/Solaris OS components related to file services and FC.
  • Manage networked storage, NFS/CIFS, and data deduplication products.
  • Operate storage and data protection tools, including Data Domain or similar.
  • Collaborate with teams using Jira, Confluence, Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios, Slurm, and Ansible.
  • Support planning, testing, and optimization of storage in cloud-based implementations such as Hadoop.
  • Provide ongoing maintenance and incident response for high-security HPC infrastructure.

Job description

By joining this particular High Performance Computing (HPC) prime contract, you'll help maintain and advance the computing infrastructure that powers unprecedented mission-critical analysis, scientific discovery, and scalable national security outcomes.

As a System Administrator focused on Storage, you will help deliver enhanced HPC capabilities across multi-vendor HPC servers, HPC clusters, and specialized processing environments. You'll have the opportunity to grow your technical expertise alongside highly skilled engineers, collaborate with exceptional teammates, and directly contribute to missions that strengthen our nation's security. Position requires an active TS/SCI with polygraph level clearance. US citizenship is required.

Responsibilities:
  • Configuration, tuning, testing and advanced level storage troubleshooting in support of virtualization products such as VMWare, Xen, and Solaris containers
  • Configuration, tuning, testing and advanced level storage troubleshooting of cloud-based implementations, such as HADOOP
  • Configuration, tuning, testing and storage troubleshooting in support of RedHat, Suse, and Solaris operating systems, as they relate to the file service and FC connectivity
  • Network appliance clusters with direct attached and FC SAN storage
  • Multi-vendor clustered file systems such as GPFS, Lustre
  • Brocade FC switch network
  • Enterprise class arrays
  • Solid State Disk (SSD)
  • NFS/CIFS based server/storage appliance
  • Data Domain and similar deduplication products
Qualifications:
  • Experience with OS install, file system configuration, TCP/IP networking, configuration, operating system and application troubleshooting, BASH scripting, software compilation and install
  • Understanding of HPC architecture, knowledge of high-speed networks such as InfiniBand, Slingshot
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios, Slurm, git, Salt, Ansible
  • Proven troubleshooting skills - each system is slightly different and there's no "one fix" for a particular problem
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
    • Minimum five (5) years of demonstratable system administration experience or ten (10) years minimum experience in lieu of degree
  • DoD 8570 IAT II level certification
