Job summary

Vibrint seeks a System Administrator focused on Storage to strengthen HPC capabilities across multi-vendor servers and clusters. The role supports high-performance computing environments, virtualization, and advanced storage troubleshooting with a focus on data integrity and performance.

The candidate will contribute to mission-critical analysis, ensure secure storage, and collaborate with engineers on complex systems. Active TS/SCI with polygraph and US citizenship are required.

Qualifications

  • Experience with OS installation, file system configuration and TCP/IP networking.
  • Troubleshooting OS, applications and storage; scripting with BASH.
  • Experience with software compilation and install; HPC environments.
  • Familiarity with HPC architectures and high-speed networks (InfiniBand, Slingshot).
  • DoD 8570 IAT II level certification; Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, tune, test and troubleshoot storage for virtualization products (VMWare, Xen, Solaris containers).
  • Configure and troubleshoot cloud storage using Hadoop; multi-vendor HPC storage.
  • Support RedHat, Suse and Solaris OS relating to file service and FC connectivity.
  • Manage network appliances, FC SAN storage, GPFS and Lustre file systems.
  • Operate Brocade FC switches; manage enterprise storage arrays and SSDs.

Job description

By joining this particular High Performance Computing (HPC) prime contract, you'll help maintain and advance the computing infrastructure that powers unprecedented mission-critical analysis, scientific discovery, and scalable national security outcomes.

As a System Administrator focused on Storage, you will help deliver enhanced HPC capabilities across multi-vendor HPC servers, HPC clusters, and specialized processing environments. You'll have the opportunity to grow your technical expertise alongside highly skilled engineers, collaborate with exceptional teammates, and directly contribute to missions that strengthen our nation's security. You'll also end your day knowing that you're doing work that truly matters.

Position requires an active TS/SCI with polygraph level clearance. US citizenship is required.

Responsibilities:
  • Configuration, tuning, testing and advanced level storage troubleshooting in support of virtualization products such as VMWare, Xen, and Solaris containers
  • Configuration, tuning, testing and advanced level storage troubleshooting of cloud-based implementations, such as HADOOP
  • Configuration, tuning, testing and storage troubleshooting in support of RedHat, Suse, and Solaris operating systems, as they relate to the file service and FC connectivity
  • Network appliance clusters with direct attached and FC SAN storage
  • Multi-vendor clustered file systems such as GPFS, Lustre
  • Brocade FC switch network
  • Enterprise class arrays
  • Solid State Disk (SSD)
  • NFS/CIFS based server/storage appliance
  • Data Domain and similar deduplication products
Qualifications:
  • Experience with OS install, file system configuration, TCP/IP networking, configuration, operating system and application troubleshooting, BASH scripting, software compilation and install
  • Understanding of HPC architecture, knowledge of high-speed networks such as InfiniBand, Slingshot
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios, Slurm, git, Salt, Ansible
  • Proven troubleshooting skills - each system is slightly different and there's no "one fix" for a particular problem
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
    • Minimum five (5) years of demonstratable system administration experience or ten (10) years minimum experience in lieu of degree
  • DoD 8570 IAT II level certification
