Job summary

UT-Battelle LLC at Oak Ridge National Laboratory's NCCS seeks a security engineer to bridge hands-on engineering and governance for HPC infrastructure. You will apply DevSecOps and risk-based security practices to protect national interests and open science publications.

You will work closely with incident response, engineering, policy, and risk teams to scale security, automate assessments, and deliver audit-ready security controls for multi-tenant HPC environments.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• Minimum of two years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Translate complex technical concepts for scientific, operations, and management staff.
• Lead security reviews of new capabilities, services, and designs against core security plans.
• Design, implement, and automate policy/control assessments for cybersecurity compliance.
• Engineer secure software development frameworks and guardrails at HPC scale.
• Document procedures, standards, and decision records to support audits and improvements.
