Job summary

Smith Pump Company is seeking a Sales Engineer to own and grow the Southeast Texas territory, focusing on the greater Houston area and surrounding counties. You will sell pump repair, maintenance, field service, and new equipment while building relationships with utilities, districts, and municipalities.

We value engineers with strong mechanical aptitude and outside sales experience, offering a competitive base salary plus uncapped commissions.

Qualifications

• Five or more years in outside sales, business development, or technical service.
• Pump or industrial rotating equipment experience or established relationships in the municipal water/wastewater market.
• Mechanical and technical aptitude to discuss pump applications and repair scope confidently.
• Ability to manage your own territory and schedule with minimal oversight.
• Valid Texas driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Own the Houston territory – greater Houston plus surrounding counties.
• Grow existing accounts and capture repair and replacement work.
• Prospect new utility districts, municipalities, and water/wastewater systems.
• Sell pump repair, field service, and maintenance along with new equipment and parts.
• Collaborate with Applications Engineers, shop, and field service to quote, win, and deliver.
• Manage your schedule, pipeline, and results.
