Baringa is hiring US Energy & Resources Summer Interns for the Commodities & Energy Trading team in Houston. The role targets students with a strong interest in energy markets and a solid foundation in strategy consulting, capable of tackling high-impact engagements across trading, finance, and risk.

You will work with senior client teams and gain hands-on experience in transformation programs. Ideal candidates bring analytical rigor, strong communication, and comfort working in cross-functional

Qualifications

• Interest in strategic issues within energy and natural resources in the US.
• Strong background in management or strategy consulting.
• Ability to structure and solve complex problems and translate analysis into strategic recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Trading business transformation – capability assessments, target operating model design, IT and change management for trading organizations.
• Commercial & TradingStrategy – portfolio strategy, operating model, value-chain strategy and strategic planning
• Growth Strategy – market entry, new business development, organic growth and adjacency strategies
• Mergers & Acquisitions – transaction strategy, integration strategy, operating model design, synergy identification and execution
• Finance & Risk – financial performance, risk management, trading risk, capital allocation and related strategic finance topics
• ETRM/Bid-to-Bill Advisory – design and client-side implementation across leading vendor platforms (e.g., OpenLink, Endur, PCI, Allegro, SAP CM, etc.)
