Job summary

Baringa is seeking Summer Interns to join the Commodities & Energy Trading team in Houston as part of its US Energy & Resources practice. Interns will work with clients on high-impact engagements across trading transformation, strategy, and risk topics.

You will engage in projects spanning trading strategy, market entry, M&A, and finance, while developing energy trading expertise and client-facing skills. This paid internship offers Houston-based work with a potential path to full-time

Qualifications

• This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
• Applicants must be eligible to work in the US.
• Applicants must be in their junior year of their undergraduate program (graduating Spring 2028 or earlier).
• Ability to commute to client sites located primarily in the Houston Metroplex each day, and to the Baringa Houston office each Friday.

Responsibilities

• Trading business transformation–including capability assessments, target operating model design, and IT and change management for trading organizations.
• Commercial & Trading Strategy – portfolio strategy, operating model, value-chain strategy and strategic planning
• Growth Strategy – market entry, new business development, organic growth and adjacency strategies
• Mergers & Acquisitions – transaction strategy, integration strategy, operating model design, synergy identification and execution
• Finance & Risk – financial performance, risk management, trading risk, capital allocation and related strategic finance topics
• ETRM/Bid-to-Bill Advisory – design and client-side implementation across leading vendor platforms (OpenLink, Endur, PCI, Allegro, SAP CM, etc.)
