Job summary

Smith Pump Company is seeking a Sales Engineer to own and grow the Southeast Texas territory, covering Houston and surrounding counties. This is an ownership role with an established reputation in municipal water and wastewater pumping.

You will build relationships with utility districts, municipalities, and engineers, selling repair, maintenance, and new equipment, while coordinating with our team to win orders and deliver solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in outside sales or related roles.
• Pump or industrial rotating equipment experience preferred.
• Mechanical/technical aptitude to discuss pump applications and specs.
• Ability to manage your own territory and schedule with minimal oversight.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Valid Texas driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Own and grow the Houston/Southeast Texas territory and surrounding counties.
• Grow existing accounts and capture repair and replacement work.
• Prospect new accounts among utility districts, municipalities, and public water systems.
• Sell pump repair, maintenance, field service, and new equipment.
• Engage consulting engineers to specify equipment before bids.
• Coordinate with Applications Engineers, shop, and field service to quote, win, and deliver.
• Manage your schedule, pipeline, and results.
