Job summary

ICON is redefining the built environment in Houston through robotics, software, and advanced materials. The Director of Business Development will craft ICON’s market strategy for the Greater Houston area, positioning our proprietary technology with developers and institutional capital early in project ideation.

This leadership role reports to the VP, Real Estate and Sales and drives go/no-go decisions, client engagement, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of high-performance experience in Business Development or Real Estate Development
• Deep understanding of Greater Houston real estate fundamentals
• Ability to navigate robotics, architecture, and advanced material science discussions
• MBA or MRED preferred and AI proficiency emphasized

Responsibilities

• Market intelligence & asset strategy to identify and penetrate key Houston segments
• Executive pipeline & relationship management with developers, PE investors, and architects
• Deal structuring & project feasibility including proformas and cost metrics
• Regulatory diplomacy & brand stewardship with AHJs and marketing differentiation
