Job summary

ZealHire Inc. in Houston, TX is seeking an Internal Audit Manager or Lead for a 6-month engagement with potential conversion.

The role requires 8–10 years of experience, Big 4 and operational audit background, CPA/CIA eligibility, and an ability to lead risk-based audits on site. You will oversee audit projects, maintain standards, develop management relationships, and advance analytics as part of the audit methodology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or MBA in Accounting, Finance or business related field required
• CPA, CIA or other relevant professional certification required
• 8–10 years of progressive experience in audit, accounting, finance, compliance, or operational disciplines
• Public accounting and/or utility industry experience is a plus
• SAP, IDEA, Tableau and TeamMate+ experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead risk-based internal audit activities per the approved annual audit plan.
• Schedule, supervise, and complete audit projects, oversee quality and consistency.
• Maintain compliance with IIA standards and improve audit processes.
• Develop relationships with management and provide risk and control insights.
• Support data analytics and AI as part of the audit methodology.
• Coordinate with external auditors to promote efficiency and rely on monitoring.
