Job summary

Part of nGAGE Talent Limited in Houston, TX seeks an experienced Audit Manager to lead external audits for a portfolio of clients. The role focuses on hands-on audit delivery, staff development and strong client relationships.

The position emphasizes managing engagements from planning through completion, with a preference for CPA holders and deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and GAAS. This is predominantly onsite with significant client-facing work.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in external audit within a U.S. public accounting firm.
• Current or recent experience at Audit Manager level, or significant Senior Auditor experience with demonstrated engagement leadership.
• Proven ability to manage audit engagements from planning through completion.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, GAAS and relevant professional auditing standards.
• Experience reviewing audit working papers and financial statements.
• Demonstrated experience supervising, mentoring and developing junior audit professionals.
• Strong client relationship management and communication skills.
• Willingness to work at least four days per week in the office or at client sites.

Responsibilities

• Manage external audit engagements from planning through completion, ensuring quality, accuracy and timely delivery.
• Oversee audit fieldwork, review working papers and resolve technical accounting and audit issues.
• Lead engagement planning, risk assessments and audit procedures.
• Review financial statements and related disclosures for compliance with applicable accounting standards.
• Manage engagement budgets, staffing, deadlines and overall workflow.
• Serve as a key point of contact for clients throughout the audit process.
• Communicate audit findings, recommendations and engagement progress to clients and senior leadership.
• Supervise, coach and mentor audit associates and senior auditors.
• Review staff performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Identify opportunities to improve audit processes, engagement efficiency and client service.
• Work closely with Partners and senior leadership to ensure successful engagement delivery.
• Contribute to client relationship development and potential business growth opportunities.
