Job summary

TC Energy in Houston seeks a Network Engineer to serve as the primary on-site resource for two data centers, a corporate office, and a Gas Control recovery center. You’ll perform day-to-day network engineering duties and advance Versa SD-WAN expertise.

The role requires 4+ years in network engineering, a bachelor’s degree, Cisco routing/switching proficiency, and strong documentation. Hybrid work model and on-site presence at Houston are included.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience in network engineering or network operations.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related field.
• CCNP or equivalent certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on-site resource for Houston network facilities (two data centers, corporate office, Gas Control recovery center).
• Respond to hardware failures, outages, and escalations requiring physical intervention.
• Perform rack-and-stack activities for network equipment installations and replacements.
• Execute cable management, patching, and physical layer troubleshooting.
• Process hardware RMA returns and coordinate replacements with vendors.
• Provide console access for device recovery when remote management is unavailable.
• Escort vendors and contractors requiring access to network infrastructure.
• Maintain accurate physical documentation of network environments (rack elevations, cable records, port mappings).
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco routers and switches across data center, campus, and WAN environments.
• Support Versa SD-WAN platform administration, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Monitor network health and performance using SolarWinds Orion and respond to alerts.
• Maintain network documentation and asset records in Netbox.
• Support OT/SCADA network infrastructure on an as-needed basis when escalated.
• Collaborate with NOC and corporate network teams; participate in change management and root-cause analysis.
