Job summary

HCA Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a Collections Representative to support patient services collections with a mostly remote role, requiring local Houston residency.

The role focuses on follow-up, payer interactions, and ensuring cash flow by collecting on accounts per contracts. You'll work under supervision to correct EOBs, monitor claims, and negotiate payment plans while maintaining accurate accounts receivable records.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical office setting preferred.
• Knowledge of managed care payers is preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform follow up and collections for patient services to improve cash flow.
• Obtain payment from third party payers and self-pay accounts per contracts.
• Identify coding or billing errors from EOBs and correct them.
• Monitor insurance claims and contact insurers to resolve claims.
• Update patient account records with actions taken.
• Assign bad debt to collection agencies as needed.
• Negotiate payment plans on self-pay accounts.
