Job summary

ON.energy is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to support day-to-day operations across a portfolio of Houston area projects. You will execute preventative and reactive maintenance on ON.energy equipment and inverter systems, ensuring maximum asset reliability and uptime.

The role requires travel between sites, adherence to safety standards, and coordination with the O&M Manager. A 2+ year field background in electrical systems and certifications (CPR, OSHA 10/30, NFPA 70E) are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of field experience in electrical systems maintenance, commissioning, energy storage, renewables, or critical infrastructure environments.
• Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Hands-on experience with inverters, battery systems, or HV/MV electrical equipment preferred; working with SCADA, networking, and communication systems.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR, OSHA 10/30, and NFPA 70E certifications upon hire; valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on BESS equipment, inverters, and electrical infrastructure per OEM and site plans.
• Respond to alarms and outages with systematic troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Document maintenance actions, parts used, and outcomes in the CMMS; update records in real time.
• Supervise contractors and coordinate with energy dispatch for outages and testing.
• Maintain safety compliance and participate in toolbox talks and incident investigations.
