SAFEbuilt is seeking a Code Enforcement Officer in Houston, TX to perform field inspections for the rental housing program, read plans, and report violations. You will maintain records and work with a team to ensure code compliance across projects.

The role emphasizes interaction with the public, contractors, and government entities, requiring a valid Texas license and driving record for success in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• TDLR Code Enforcement Officer II licensure is required.
• ICC IPMC Certification is a plus.
• 1+ years of experience in security, enforcement, or compliance-related work including investigating allegations, conducting research or resolving complaints.
• Experience in building, construction, or trades is highly desired.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid Driver's License and good driving record are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections for rental housing program.
• Read and examine plans and specifications when required.
• Report violations and maintain files/records.
• Perform other related duties as required.
