Job summary

Gunvor is seeking an EPA Trading Compliance Analyst to oversee EPA Parts 79, 80, 90 and 1090 reporting for refined products and renewables trading desks from the Houston office.

The role involves coordinating with external counsel, tracking RINs and credits, and ensuring adherence to state and federal environmental regulations across transportation fuels. Travel to the Houston office four days a week is expected.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree required from an accredited university.
• 5–7 years of experience with EPA and state regulations pertaining to motor fuels production and transportation.
• Experience working with external counsel to verify environmental requirements.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially MS Excel.
• Detail oriented and proficient at calculating EPA unit obligations from production and trading.
• Experience in a commodity trading office environment and dealing with trading/ops teams.

Responsibilities

• Advise and administer EPA Parts 79, 80, 90 and 1090 reporting for refined products and renewables trading desks.
• Gather, verify, reconcile, and retain documentation such as lab analyses, CBP records, and PTDs.
• Track and reconcile inventories to confirm volumetric EPA requirements for RINs, benzene, and sulphur credits.
• Monitor and resolve discrepancies; communicate with traders and front office.
• Confirm deficits/surpluses of RINs, benzene, and sulphur credits for front office and other functions.
• Manage Renewable Identification Numbers (RINs) reporting via EMTS and coordinate audits.
• Advise on regulatory risks and opportunities to operations and traders.
• Ensure adherence to state and federal regulatory requirements for transportation fuel transactions.
• Prepare quarterly and annual attestations with external consultants.
• Administer and file reporting for LCFS programs (CA, OR, WA, Canada).
• Liaise with external counsel on current requirements and training of staff.
• Represent Gunvor on RFGSA and support in training front office and operations.
• Monitor compliance of Houston and Calgary offices with internal policies.
