Job summary

Hanwha Energy USA is seeking a Sr Natural Gas Trader in Houston. The role requires independent, results-driven professionals with extensive gas trading experience, including physical and financial positions, storage, and transportation.

You will trade across intraday to term horizons, optimize the US gas portfolio, and collaborate with originators, risk, and market participants to capture opportunities and manage risk. Onsite role with strong analytical expectations.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in natural gas trading.
Bachelor's in Business, Finance, Economics or any hard science quantitative; advanced degree a plus.
Experience pricing structured, non-standard contracts in energy markets.
Strong knowledge of gas fundamentals and market rules/structure.
Solid P&L experience from a trading background and VaR awareness.
Eligible to work in the USA for any employer without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Transact physical gas, transport, storage, and financial basis.
Identify trading opportunities from our books, Sales-Trading flow or market movements.
Quote competitive prices daily to the sales-trading team.
Collaborate with risk for updated VAR monitoring and with mid-office for reconciliations.
Develop quantitative and fundamental views of gas markets along the curve.
Build and maintain relationships to ensure efficient pipeline operations.
