Job summary

Tiello is partnering with a well-established commercial roofing contractor seeking an experienced Commercial Roofing Estimator to join their team in Houston, TX. The role focuses on preparing accurate estimates, evaluating project requirements, and performing site visits to develop detailed proposals.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on knowledge of commercial roofing systems, experience with takeoffs, and the ability to collaborate with sales, PMs, and field teams to win and hand off projects.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in commercial roofing estimating, construction estimating, or a related role.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate estimates and proposals for commercial roofing projects.
• Review plans, specifications, scopes of work, and project documents.
• Conduct jobsite visits, roof inspections, and field measurements.
• Perform detailed material and labor takeoffs.
• Determine project costs, including materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and other project requirements.
• Obtain and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
• Develop competitive bids while maintaining appropriate margins.
• Identify potential scope gaps, risks, and cost concerns before submitting proposals.
• Work closely with sales, project management, and operations teams.
• Communicate with customers, general contractors, property managers, and vendors as needed.
• Attend pre‑bid meetings and project walkthroughs when required.
• Prepare and submit professional proposals and estimates within established deadlines.
• Maintain organized estimating records and documentation.
• Track bid opportunities and follow up on submitted proposals.
• Assist with the transition of awarded projects to the project management and operations teams.
• Stay current on commercial roofing materials, systems, pricing, and industry trends.
• Support the team in achieving company sales and profitability goals.
