Job summary

CAMBA Legal Services is seeking a Case-Handling Paralegal for the Housing Unit to support intake, assess client needs, and prepare legal materials for hearings in Brooklyn, NY. This full-time role reports to the Supervisor and offers a comprehensive benefits package.

You will conduct outreach, manage client communications, and help coordinate with housing programs to advance legal goals and program outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree with 2 years experience or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Prior housing-related experience preferred.
• Bi-lingual abilities preferred (Spanish, Haitian Creole, French, Arabic, Russian, Urdu).

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with CAMBA intake applications, registrations and forms.
• Conduct legal intake and assess clients and families’ needs.
• Perform home visits for intake and follow-up services.
• Prepare and file legal documents for administrative hearings.
• Maintain accurate client files and case notes; deliver subpoenas as needed.
• Coordinate with internal and external programs to ensure integrated services delivery.
