Job summary

CAMBA Legal Services in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Benefits Paralegal in the Housing Unit to support low-income clients with housing benefits and related applications. You will conduct intake assessments, prepare forms, and coordinate with partners to secure housing stability.

The role requires an Associate’s degree (A.A.) and two years’ relevant experience or a BA/B.S. and/or equivalent experience; bilingual skills preferred. We offer a competitive benefits package and a full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree (A.A.) and two years applicable experience or bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) and/or equivalent experience.
• Bi-lingual preferred (Spanish, Haitian Creole, French, Arabic, Russian, Urdu).

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in completing CAMBA intake applications, registrations and forms.
• Conduct intake and assessment of clients and families’ situations and needs.
• Maintain client confidentiality and professional relationships.
• Prepare benefits applications and assist with hearings and administrative proceedings.
• Develop and maintain client files and progress notes.
