Job summary

NeighborWorks Alaska is seeking a Housing Support Specialist to provide intensive case management within NWAK’s Supportive Housing Programs in Anchorage. You will conduct intake assessments, develop service plans, coordinate services, and advocate for long-term housing stability for individuals and families.

The role requires 2 years of relevant experience (social services or housing), strong advocacy, and willingness to work flexible hours to support participants.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in case management, supportive housing, or social services.
• Experience working with homelessness, mental health, substance use, or trauma-informed care preferred.
• Strong case management skills, with experience in service planning and client advocacy.
• Valid Alaska Driver’s License and auto insurance for transporting clients and attending site visits.

Responsibilities

• Conduct proactive outreach to individuals referred to the program and assist with eligibility requirements and application processes.
• Engage with potential participants through various communication methods to assess interest and address concerns.
• Develop individualized service/action plans and conduct comprehensive assessments to identify client needs.
• Provide crisis intervention, resource connection, and practical skill-building to support independent living.
• Maintain accurate documentation, including HMIS entries and service transactions.
• Transport clients as needed and ensure access to community resources.
