Job summary

Cook Inlet Housing Authority seeks a Customer Care Specialist to support applicants through the housing process with exceptional service.

You will guide applicants through intake and eligibility, answer questions by phone, email, or walk-ins, and help ensure a positive experience for all housing seekers. Strong communication, detail orientation, and proficiency in Microsoft Office are required, and an Alaska driver’s license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in business or related field.
• Four years of experience in customer service.
• NAHASDA or LIHTC certification training is a plus.
• AK Driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service, creating a positive and easy experience for all clients.
• Assist applicants with application completion, status updates, and answering questions via phone, email, or walk-ins.
• Assess client needs and provide information and/or applications for services.
• Schedule and manage applicant appointments for intake and prescreening.
• Verify income and determine waitlist placement.
• Recommend approval/denial based on CIHA criteria and notify eligibility status.
• Maintain referral resources and promote CIHA housing programs.
• Represent CIHA at informational booths as required.
