Job summary

The City of Iowa City seeks a Housing Support Services Coordinator to lead and supervise Housing Authority programs, including housing counseling and Family Self-Sufficiency initiatives. You will develop housing stability strategies and collaborate with community partners to improve outcomes for participants.

Under general direction, you will coordinate services, guide staff, and ensure quality delivery of housing support, counseling, and related services within the Neighborhood & Development

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Public Administration, Counseling, or related field and three years of progressively responsible experience in housing programs, social services, case management, program administration, or related field.
• HUD Housing Counseling Certification Exam within 12 months of hire.
• Valid State of Iowa driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must pass criminal background check.

Salary Range:$74,963.20 – $106,204.80 (starting wage contingent upon experience)

Hours:Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

Job Summary:

Minimum Education, Experience, Certification/Licensure, Other:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Public Administration, Counseling, or related field and three years of progressively responsible experience in housing programs, social services, case management, program administration, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.HUD Housing Counseling Certification Exam within 12 months of hire. Valid State of Iowa driver’s license with satisfactory driving record. Must be 18 years of age. Must pass criminal background check.

Preferred Education, Experience, Certification/Licensure, Other:

Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field. HUD Certified Housing Counselor certification. Experience working with Housing Choice Voucher, Public Housing, Family Self Sufficiency, or other HUD-assisted housing programs. Experience supervising professional or human service staff. Experience with grant administration, program evaluation, and community partnership development. Public Housing Authority certification.
