Job summary

The City of Iowa City seeks a Housing Support Services Coordinator to lead and supervise Housing Authority programs, including housing counseling and Family Self-Sufficiency initiatives. You will develop housing stability strategies and collaborate with community partners to improve outcomes for participants.

Under general direction, you will coordinate services, guide staff, and ensure quality delivery of housing support, counseling, and related services within the Neighborhood & Development

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Public Administration, Counseling, or related field and three years of progressively responsible experience in housing programs, social services, case management, program administration, or related field.
• HUD Housing Counseling Certification Exam within 12 months of hire.
• Valid State of Iowa driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must pass criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise Housing Authority supportive services, housing counseling, and Family Self-Sufficiency programs.
• Provide housing counseling and develop housing stability initiatives.
• Supervise program staff and build community partnerships to improve outcomes for Housing Authority participants.
