Job summary

The City of Iowa City seeks an Hourly Housing Authority Intern. Open to students enrolled in social work, planning, public administration, social justice or communications programs.

You will support the Housing Authority Division with affordable housing research, development and program implementation under the Executive Director's direction. Responsibilities include researching financing opportunities, assisting with housing development and preservation, tracking timelines and deliverables,

Qualifications

• Enrollment as a student in a related program required.
• Ability to communicate both written and oral to internal staff and the public.
• Currently enrolled at an accredited university/college.

Responsibilities

• Assist with affordable housing research and program implementation.
• Research affordable housing financing and funding opportunities.
• Assist with housing development, acquisition, rehabilitation, and preservation initiatives.
• Track project timelines, funding requirements, and deliverables.
• Collect and analyze housing and program data; prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders.
• Perform other related project-based duties as assigned.
