Job summary

Solid Ground is seeking a Prevention Specialist in White Bear Lake, MN to prevent homelessness by collaborating with tenants and landlords and to preserve tenancies. You will support program referrals and funding processes, while maintaining client records and coordinating with partners.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field and at least one year of advocacy experience, with a strong commitment to Housing First principles and trauma-informed practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services or related field plus 1 year in social service advocacy.
• Experience with diverse populations in homeless/housing settings preferred.
• Knowledge of housing laws and affordable housing resources.
• Commitment to Housing First and trauma-informed practices.

Responsibilities

• Accept referrals from the Prevention Manager.
• Process requests for Prevention Assistance.
• Enter information into HMIS and Client Track within one business day of funding approval.
• Handle intakes, assessment calls, and callbacks from the prevention line promptly.
• Counsel tenants and landlords on rights and responsibilities.
• Provide referrals to social services to help participants achieve zero balance.
• Collaborate with community partners to inform about programs and identify participants.
