Job summary

Mercy House in Buena Park, CA is seeking a Housing Navigator to support shelter clients with housing plans, referrals, and advocacy to achieve housing stability. The role involves trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and coordinating with external agencies.

The position requires managing a caseload, maintaining documentation, and providing crisis intervention and housing support services within a day/evening schedule. Salary is $22.50–$23.50 hourly, full-time, non-exempt.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field.
• At least 1 year of experience working with homeless individuals and mental health.
• Individuals with less than a BA/BS but with 2 years of direct life experience with homeless populations are welcome to apply.
• Tolerance and understanding for individuals with urgent multiple case management and health needs.
• Confidentiality and ethics in case management.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a caseload of 22-30 individuals.
• Provide housing referrals and crisis intervention.
• Develop an Individual Service Plan with short- and long-term goals.
• Coordinate with external agencies and housing providers.
• Input accurate data into HMIS and update progress.
• Attend voucher briefings and Coordinated Entry System meetings.
