Job summary

Mental Health Connecticut is seeking a Housing Specialist in the Torrington area to provide direct service and case management for individuals experiencing homelessness. The role includes intakes, assessments, home visits, and developing recovery plans within a structured program.

The position offers a full-time schedule (Mon–Fri, 9:00 am–5:00 pm with flexibility) and a competitive benefits package. Salary is $24 per hour with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required; a Bachelor’s degree in social science or related field is preferred.
• Substance Abuse certification is preferred.
• Case management experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intakes, assessments, homeless verifications, income verifications and provide direct service and case management to chronically homeless individuals.
• Conduct home visits and safety assessments aligned with program requirements.
• Develop a recovery plan and orient participants to the program.
