Job summary

Hredge is seeking a Housing Specialist I to work in Chicago, IL, responsible for conducting initial and continued eligibility and routine subsidy processing for housing programs.

The role requires a foundational understanding of subsidized housing programs and strong communication skills to ensure accurate and timely client assistance.

Qualifications

• Must complete specialist certification course within 60 days of hire (HCV, Public Housing, LIHTC, etc.)
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in subsidized programs eligibility required
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with the application process for subsidized housing programs (HCV, PH, LIHTC, etc.)
• Review and verify documentation to determine eligibility.
• Maintain accurate records of client interactions and case files.
• Provide information and support to clients regarding program requirements and processes.
