Family Promise of West Michigan seeks a Housing Specialist to partner with landlords, program participants, and case managers to house families. The role involves inspecting leased units, educating tenants, and coordinating housing solutions with staff and partners.

Qualifications

• Experience working with landlords and housing partners.
• Knowledge of West Michigan rental market and rental assistance programs.
• Understanding of tenant rights and fair housing laws.
• Familiarity with property management concepts and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting landlord partners and maintaining relationships.
• Inspect FPWM leased units and document findings.
• Educate participants on tenancy, rights, move-in checklists, and housing resources.
• Conduct rent reasonableness checks and housing inspections.
• Review rental market trends, laws, and compliance with staff and partners.
• Create and maintainhousing inventory to match participants with housing options.
• Coordinate mediation with landlords to resolve issues and maintain stable housing.
• Communicate with landlords, tenants, case managers, and partners regularly.
• Educate staff and community partners on housing solutions; schedule maintenance.
• Other duties as assigned.
