Job summary

SEBCO in the Bronx is hiring a Full-Time Housing Specialist for the NYC Department of Homeless Services Bronx Men’s Shelter. The role focuses on helping residents transition from temporary housing to permanent housing by coordinating services and supports.

You will conduct housing assessments, educate tenants on rights, facilitate re-housing workshops, and provide comprehensive case management including housing applications and subsidies, while maintaining detailed records and follow-ups.

Qualifications

• Experience in housing, real estate, or related field.
• Experience building relationships with city agencies and landlords.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with homeless population.
• Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct housing assessments to evaluate readiness and needs.
• Facilitate housing workshops and provide information on re-housing and tenancy.
• Educate tenants on rights under housing laws and regulations.
• Provide comprehensive case management including housing applications and subsidies.
• Maintain detailed case notes and ensure regular follow-ups with residents.
