Job summary

Ability Matters in Columbus, OH is seeking an Assistant Director of Housing to lead and strengthen residential programs, developing the managers and teams who serve individuals with autism and other neurological disabilities.

You will oversee staff, ensure quality services, manage documentation and compliance, and collaborate with leadership to drive continuous improvement and responsive after-hours coverage. This role offers meaningful, mission-driven work in a community inclusion setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
• 3 years of leadership experience in residential or housing services.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving.
• Requirements: Valid Ohio driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Lead & Develop Staff through coaching and professional development.
• Monitor daily programming and person-centered supports for outcomes.
• Review documentation, MARs, behavior data for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor staffing, scheduling, timekeeping, and operations.
• Oversee medical appointments and advocate for health and well-being.
• Troubleshoot challenges and guide Leads to maintain safety and stability.
• Participate in leadership meetings, quality reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide after-hours on-call leadership coverage.
