Job summary

The STEP Housing Manager (SHM) at AIDS Foundation of Chicago works with the Director of the Subsidized Tenant Empowerment Program (STEP) to ensure compliance with HOPWA funding regulations and data collection requirements.

The SHM directly supervises five Housing Technicians with a combined caseload of 275+ clients, developing rapid re-housing and referral plans and collaborating with landlords and internal teams to secure housing resources.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• 3 years experience using intermediate Microsoft Office functionality (for example, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• 2 or more years of social service experience and 1 or more years of program management experience

Responsibilities

• Lead recruitment and onboarding of new team members; create onboarding and training plans; manage performance and evaluations.
• Mentor and supervise STEP Housing Technicians through direct supervision and monitoring of programmatic scopes of service.
• Address client housing needs including leasing, landlord negotiation, move requests, unit disputes, and payment status issues.
• Develop tools and strategies to enhance operations via ongoing trainings and technical assistance for internal and external staff.
• Develop and maintain a resource guide to assist clients with housing needs (evictions, landlord negotiations, access to community resources).
