Job summary

The Sacramento Area Council of Governments is seeking a Housing Planning Intern to support SACOG’s housing program, including the Cycle 7 Housing Element and RHNA. This paid, one-year internship offers hands-on experience in regional planning, data analysis, and policy development while contributing to housing goals in the six-county region.

Qualifications

Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in urban planning, public policy, sociology, transportation, data analytics, or related fields.
Excel proficiency.
Accuracy and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Assist staff with preparation of SACOG’s regional technical assistance products for the Cycle 7 Housing Element Update, including gathering, analyzing, and summarizing housing data.
Support development of an ADU survey and analysis, organizing data and preparing materials for reporting.
Conduct data visualization and analysis related to housing equity and fair housing, using GIS and visuals.
Draft written summaries and reports communicating technical data clearly.
