Job summary

Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control's Division of Parks and Recreation seeks a casual/seasonal Housing Maintenance Technician to care for 24 rental units in the northern region of the state.

You will perform repairs, preventative maintenance, and assist the Housing Administrator with inspections and contractor coordination to ensure work meets Division standards; travel statewide is required, and sponsorship for H‑1B visas is not provided.

Qualifications

• Six months experience in performing work in a variety of trades fields such as plumbing, carpentry, painting, or HVAC.
• Six months experience in record keeping.
• Knowledge of estimating cost, time, and materials for projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and upgrades to rental units within the northern region.
• Perform regularly scheduled preventative maintenance within internal housing units.
• Assist the Housing Administrator with annual housing inspections.
• Assist the Housing Administrator with maintaining current lists for tasks to be completed for each unit.
• Act as liaison between Housing Administrator and contractors to ensure contracted work is completed in a timely manner and meets the Division’s standards.
• Demonstrate responsibility, dependability, and good communication skills.
• Maintain a positive attitude.
• Other duties as assigned.
